Throughout California, fires have been spreading causing damage to homes, and over thousands acres of land. Overall in the California Wild fires they all have killed around 6 people and have left many people reported missing. But, more specifically the Valley Fire resulted with 76,067 acres of land burned, was named the fourth most dangerous wildfire in California history.
In the Valley Fire at least three people have died, while another two people have been reported missing. One of the missing people is known as Robert Taylor Fletcher, who was reported missing on 9/16/15. Another missing person from the wildfire is Robert Lichtman who was reported missing, and was last seen standing in his driveway waving by vehicles as they left the scene, friends say he refused to evacuate, and he didn’t have any transportation.(Lee Romney and Frank Shyong, L.A. Along with the victims are two 69 year old males, and a 72 year old woman, who wasn’t able to evacuate due to having multiple sclerosis, was found dead in her burned down house after the fire has occurred.(Ben Brumfield and Susanna Capelouto CNN)
President Barack Obama has signed a disaster declaration to the Valley Fire which is the giving federal aid to the residence who have been impacted by the fire, giving federal money to rebuild, repair houses that have burned down during the fire.
For every ticket sold at the Homecoming event, DHS Athletics will be donating $1 dollar to Middletown High School, who have been affected by the wildfire that has struck in their city. (from District Public Information Office)
