It’s Peanuts 65th anniversary, Charlie Brown! On October 2nd, 2015 was the 65th anniversary of the well known comic strip Peanuts. The Peanuts Movie was recently released in movie theaters across America on November 6th, 2015. The movie is based off the famous comic strip Peanuts, written by Charles M. Schulz. It’s about a boy named Charlie Brown with his dog Snoopy, and their adventures together with their friends. The comic strip features characters which were created by Charles M. Schulz, they include, Charlie Brown, Snoopy, Woodstock, Lucy, Sally, Peppermint Patty, Marcie, Linus, and Franklin, Pigpen, and Schroeder.
The movie stars Charlie Brown, and his new interest in the Little Red haired girl who moved up his street, along with Charlie Brown’s interest, Snoopy, heads off on his own adventure doing wild things with his friend Woodstock. Charlie Brown also tries to impress his friends and the Little Red Haired Girl.
The comic strip first premiered in nine different newspapers in America in 1950, the comic ran in newspapers from 1950-2000. Since it’s last comic newspapers have been showing reruns of the comic. Along with the comic strip in Newspapers, there were also famous TV specials still aired today, such as The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown, A Charlie Brown Christmas, It’s the Easter Beagle Charlie Brown, and A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving. Not only did the comic strip have TV specials, but they also had their own animated TV show called, The Charlie Brown and Snoopy Show. The show aired on CBS from 1983 to 1986.
Over 65 years the Peanuts comic strip has been a very popular comic, and with the TV specials airing every year and the new movie it’ll be remembered by more generations for years to come as the comic strip grows older in age, and more relevant to our memories. With all the success and recognition the comic has, its legacy will never die.
