At Fallon Middle School, there are lots of fun lunchtime activities to choose from! Lunchtime activities are an amazing way to brighten up your day! These events include activities like donut-on-a-string, the kendama showcase, musical chairs, and guess the song. These events, held on the grass in front of the blue tables during each of the lunches, are purely for students to have some fun in their day.
Created by Mrs.Young when the school first opened, these enjoyable occurrences ideally happen at least eight times a month or more! The purpose of these activities are for students to have something to look forward to at school and to build community in a fantastic way. The ideas for activities come from Mrs. Young at first, but later in the year this job is mostly filled by leadership students. The number of students that usually attend vary from a few to everyone, depending on the grade level. In 6th grade, a lot of students participate, usually around 50. For 7th grade, there’s a medium amount of people that come, are around 40, and for 8th grade, there is a smaller amount, the least in the school, which is approximately 20 students.
Also, Red Ribbon Week is coming up! Mrs. Young and her students are in the process of planning ideas for lunchtime activities in the future for this occasion. They will correspond to each of the themes. For example, Tuesday (Oct. 27) had sack races. These fun events also come with prizes for participation. They are usually small treats like mints or jolly ranchers. These candy prizes are to hopefully attract more students to join the excitement.
Overall, lunchtime activities are an enjoyable way to have fun in your school day! You can win great prizes and and have a fun time at lunch with your friends. So, if you
want to have fun, the grass area in front of the blue tables are the place to be!
