Three touches, two teams, one winner. Volleyball is a difficult sport, so giving some credit (especially the girls) should be a norm! Both of Fallon’s A and B teams are undefeated. At the end of the season, both the A and B teams took home the win with an undefeated season for the B team, and winning the championships for the A team. We spoke to three girls: Bridget, Shana, and Gwen, all from Fallon’s Girls Volleyball teams!
Interview with Bridget Brumm:
Q: What team are you on?
A: A-team.
Q: When did you start playing volleyball?
A: 5 years ago.
Q: What is the best part about volleyball?
A: Just playing overall, especially the energy on the court, you will have fun if everyone is full of energy. The team cheers, getting excited, winning is also fun too, but even if you’re losing, you’re having the best time of your life.
Q: What position do you play?
A: I am the setter, I make sure that all of the hitters have the best “kill.”
Q: What is your inspiration for playing volleyball?
A: My sister. I used to hate volleyball, but then I saw her play. I would despise it, and I don’t know why.
Q: What are your thoughts on volleyball?
A: When I first played, I was 8, I thought “Why am I doing this? It’s so dumb.” Then, I started practicing, to get better than my sister even though she’s 6 years older than me, and I fell in love with it automatically as I practiced. Now I have it 7 days a week for 3 hours, it’s great!
Interview with Shana Kohli:
Q: What team are you on?
A: B-team.
Q: When did you start playing volleyball?
A: I started playing volleyball 4 years ago with Core, which is an program out of school for volleyball players who want to spend more time playing on a team.
Q: What is the best part about volleyball?
A: I like being with my team, cheer, and it’s fun hitting too.
Q: What position do you play?
A: I usually play setter, but we rotate a lot.
Q: What is your inspiration for playing volleyball?
A: Well, my mom put me into it, and forced me to do it, and after a year I started liking it.
Q: Would you consider volleyball an easy or hard sport?
A: It’s hard because you need to have a lot of ball control, and you need to think of where the ball will go before it goes on the other side of the net.

Q: What is your inspiration for playing volleyball?
A: Nothing, I just wanted to play.
